Polio, or polio, is a paralyzing childhood disease caused by the polio virus and can be prevented by immunization. Polio, which mainly affects children under the age of five, has no cure and can only be prevented by administering multiple doses of vaccine to a child, which can lead to irreversible paralysis.

Hoping to make Pakistan a polio-free country, a door-to-door polio campaign was conducted across the country in all districts / areas of the country from 16 to 20 December, during which 39.6 million children will be assigned .

The campaign was synchronized with Afghanistan to guarantee the vaccination of all the children on the move, as 75 of the 104 cases belong to KP which shares a long border with the landlocked country.
