Shocking moment that two Carnival cruises collide in Mexico, causing an evacuation that left one injured
Two carnival cruises crashed into each other in a port in Mexico, damaging at least one of the ships.
Carnival Glory maneuvered to dock in Cozumel around 8.30am. Friday, local time, when it hit Carnival Legend, which had already docked behind it, leaving its stern visibly affected.
Carnival Cruise Lines said one person suffered a minor injury to Carnival Glory when a group of guests were evacuated from the dining room
A passenger was injured when Carnival Glory attempted to dock at Cozumel, Mexico, on Friday, but crashed into Carnival Legend, which was already moored nearby.
A Carnival spokesman said passengers in one of the dining rooms had to be evacuated after the accident, leaving a person with minor injuries.
Suddenly, a heavy blow is heard when shocked spectators point out that the two ships have hit each other.
The images also show damage to the rear of the Gloria, including windows that have broken and a railing that has been deformed.
The stern of the 952-foot long ship was crushed in the accident and the passengers were stunned by the heavy impact.
A statement released by Carnival Glory said: 'Carnival Glory collided with Carnival Legend this morning in Cozumel.
Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock when she made contact with Carnival Legend who was already next.
'We are evaluating the damage, but there are no problems affecting the navigability of any of the ships.
