Pakistan launches the red carpet for the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived on Thursday in Islamabad with a high-level delegation for a one-day visit.

Prime Minister Imran Khan received Sheikh Mohammad at the Nur Khan air base. Subsequently, the Prime Minister led the Crown Prince to the Prime Minister's Chamber.

According to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Aisha Farooqui, during the visit, the Crown Prince will have an individual meeting with the Prime Minister and other senior government officials.

The visit comes after the Crown Prince meets the army chief of staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on December 14th. The ways to improve cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.

Sheikh Mohammad's visit illustrates the strength of the relationship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates). The United Arab Emirates are Pakistan's main trading partner in the Middle East and an important source of investment.

The United Arab Emirates are also among Pakistan's main development partners in the education, health and energy sectors.

Focus 2019: a good year for Pakistan's foreign relations

Last year, Sheikh Mohammad visited Pakistan to meet Prime Minister Imran personally, followed by delegation-level talks.

This is also an Arab leader's second visit in just two weeks. Last month, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud visited Pakistan for a day trip.
